501(c)(3) Nonprofit Society

Stewards of Ohio Choral Tradition

Formed to preserve, finance, and champion the Singing Men of Ohio, uniting four decades of collegiate singers under Unitas per Harmonium.

Origins in Athens

Four Decades on Risers

Established at Ohio University to assemble male voices across diverse academic colleges, the Singing Men of Ohio grew into a premier collegiate tenor-bass ensemble celebrated for vocal discipline and camaraderie.

The Society incorporated as an independent alumni organization to ensure student singers maintain access to regional performance tours, historic sheet music preservation, and annual masterclasses regardless of university budget cycles.

Fiduciary Standards

Transparent Alumni Stewardship

The Society operates as an independent 501(c)(3) public charity governed entirely by elected alumni trustees. Every dollar contributed funds direct student ensemble initiatives, rehearsal scholarships, tour logistics, and the archival catalog of university choral arrangements.

Public filings and annual meeting minutes remain accessible to all active patrons. In close partnership with the Ohio University School of Music, our board coordinates sustainable endowment distributions that protect ensemble heritage for decades ahead.
